Seva | Shunyashunya Yoga Shala

What is Seva?

"Living creatures are nourished by food, and food is nourished by rain; rain itself is the water of life, which comes from selfless worship and service."
- Bhagavad Gita, 3.14

Perhaps more familiar to Indian religion, yogic and vedic philosophies, the concept of seva means selfless service - Unconditional service, which is performed without expectations and thoughts of rewards.

As proponents of love, peace and life, we utter the word "namaste", which means "I salute the God, the divine being residing within You". We acknowledge others by doing so, as well as acknowledge that all sentient beings share their roots and come from one primary source of energy.

It is for the same reason that we practice seva, as by serving those around us with pure love and joy, we serve god, we serve ourselves and we improve our community.

Support Shunyashunya

It's a challenge to run a subscription-free, commercial-free, user supported video website - but at Shunyashunya, we feel that everyone should be able to enjoy our videos.

We have chosen a donation-based payment model, which gives You the freedom to contribute exactly how much You feel that our content is worth. In order for us to maintain and continuously improve Shunyashunya Yoga Shala, we rely entirely on Your support.

Make a donation

We use Paypal for our donations, which provides You with several payment options.

If You don't have (or do not wish to have) an account at Paypal, the option to make a one-time payment with a credit card (or bank transfer) is also available.

Alternatively, please know that we have a donation box in our shala, where yogis are welcome to leave a bit of something, be it cash, a small flower or an incense, for example.
