Basic standing stretch that calms the nerves and cools down the brain. Parsvottanasana impacts all limbs, torso and abdominal organs as well, making it good for improving digestion. The asana gives a nice long and intense stretch for the backs of the legs and is useful to runners and athletes. A good pose for developing balance, but not to be practiced fully in case of back injury or high blood pressure (do the pose half-way with torso parallel to the ground and hands pressed into the wall).
