We use three pranayama techniques - cooling breath sitkari and sitali, as well as chandra bhedana or moon piercing breath - to enhance energy flow in the Ida nadi, which corresponds to our left nostril. This energy channel is associated with being as opposed to doing, female characteristics, lunar properties, coolness and calm.
