This practice is all about moving the apana, which is a life force energy that takes care of downward flow and elimination in our systems, as opposed to life force prana, which flows upward. In accordance with that, this class lacks inversions, as well as strong twists and backbends and is thus very suitable for women during their menstruation. We focus on calmer, moderate asanas, such as seated folds and hip openers. In addition to apana, this class works with lunar energy. We start out with moon salutations to cultivate calmness and emphasize cyclic nature of our bodies and overall being.
